Osmara Chime · 27 Jalan Sultan Ismail, 50250 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Osmara Chime website and your engagement with our watch repair and servicing programmes. By submitting an enquiry or delivering a watch to the workshop, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. Definitions

  • "Osmara Chime", "we", "us", "our" — the watch repair workshop operating at 27 Jalan Sultan Ismail, 50250 Kuala Lumpur.
  • "Client", "you", "your" — any person who submits an enquiry, delivers a watch, or engages a service programme.
  • "Service" — any of the three servicing programmes offered: Mechanical Movement Overhaul, Quartz Movement Care and Seal Renewal, or the Collection Care Programme.
  • "Scope Agreement" — the written summary of work, parts, and price provided to the client before any service work begins.
  • "Website" — the Osmara Chime website accessible at https://osmarach.blog.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using this website or engaging a service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you are acting on behalf of another party (such as submitting a watch owned by someone else), you confirm you have authority to do so.

Use of the website constitutes acceptance of these Terms. Delivery of a watch to the workshop constitutes acceptance of both these Terms and the specific Scope Agreement provided for that piece.

3. Service Description

Osmara Chime provides workshop-based watch repair and servicing for mechanical and quartz timepieces of Swiss and Japanese origin. The three service programmes currently offered are:

  • Mechanical Movement Overhaul (RM 1,850): Full disassembly, cleaning, parts replacement where required, lubrication, reassembly, and five-position timing verification.
  • Quartz Movement Care and Seal Renewal (RM 470): Cell replacement, gasket and O-ring renewal, circuit inspection, coil resistance check, and pressure testing.
  • Collection Care Programme — Annual (RM 4,600): Twelve-month arrangement for owners of five or more pieces, covering inspections, one movement service, and a maintained digital record.

Services are provided from the workshop at 27 Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. We do not currently offer collection or delivery. Clients are responsible for transporting pieces to and from the workshop.

4. Scope Agreement and Changes

Before any work begins, we will provide a written Scope Agreement setting out the proposed work, any parts to be replaced, the estimated cost, and the estimated turnaround time. Work does not commence until the client has confirmed acceptance of the Scope Agreement.

If additional work is identified during servicing (for example, a component not visible at intake is found to be worn), we will contact you to discuss the change before proceeding. No additional work will be carried out without your agreement.

If you decline additional work that we consider necessary for safe function of the movement, we will advise you of this in writing and return the piece in its current state.

5. Payment Terms

Payment is due in full upon collection of the completed piece. Prices are quoted and charged in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). We accept cash and bank transfer. Specific payment method details are provided at the point of collection.

For the Collection Care Programme, payment is due at the start of each twelve-month period. Pricing for subsequent years will be confirmed in writing before renewal.

Pieces held following completion of work may be subject to a reasonable storage charge if not collected within thirty days of notification, at a rate to be advised at that time.

6. Service-Specific Terms

Labour Coverage

Mechanical Movement Overhaul work carries a twelve-month labour coverage period from the date of collection. If a fault attributable to the servicing work develops within that period, we will examine and address it at no additional labour charge. This coverage does not apply to:

  • Damage from impact, misuse, or accidental damage after collection
  • Water ingress through a case compromised after collection
  • Parts that were not replaced during the service and were noted as worn in the condition report
  • Normal wear of lubricants beyond the coverage period

Turnaround Times

Turnaround estimates are provided in good faith and are not contractually binding deadlines. Delays may arise from overseas parts sourcing. We will notify you if an estimate changes materially and provide a revised timeframe.

Collection Care Programme

The scope of the programme is agreed in writing at the outset of each annual period. Inclusions, exclusions, and the specific pieces covered are documented in the programme agreement. Mid-year additions of pieces to the programme are subject to a separate written agreement.

7. Ownership and Care of Pieces

You warrant that you are the lawful owner of any piece delivered to the workshop, or that you have authority from the owner to arrange servicing. We will not service a piece where ownership is disputed or unclear.

Pieces in our care are stored securely within the workshop. While we take reasonable precautions, we are not an insurer. We recommend that clients maintain their own insurance for high-value timepieces during the servicing period.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, design, and layout — is the property of Osmara Chime. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or use it for commercial purposes without our prior written consent. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.

9. Disclaimers

We provide services with reasonable care and skill in accordance with standard horological practice. However, older or previously repaired movements may behave unpredictably, and we cannot warrant specific rate performance or longevity outcomes. Any condition notes in the written report represent our assessment at intake and are not a warranty of future performance.

This website is provided for informational purposes. Content may not reflect the most recent service pricing or availability. Contact us directly to confirm current details.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted under Malaysian law, Osmara Chime's liability in connection with any service is limited to the amount paid for that specific service. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, including loss of use or sentimental value.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Osmara Chime against any claim, loss, or expense arising from your breach of these Terms, your misrepresentation of ownership of a piece, or your failure to provide accurate information relevant to a service.

12. Termination

Either party may withdraw from a service arrangement at any time before work commences. If you withdraw after a Scope Agreement has been accepted, we reserve the right to charge a reasonable assessment fee for time already spent on intake examination and report preparation.

We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue service where a piece is found to be stolen, where payment is not received, or where the client has provided materially false information.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms or our services shall first be subject to an informal resolution process: please contact us at [email protected] to discuss the matter. We aim to respond within ten working days.

If informal resolution is not possible, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Clients also retain any rights available under Malaysian consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Protection Act 1999.

14. General Provisions

  • Entire agreement: These Terms and the Scope Agreement for a specific service constitute the entire agreement between us in respect of that service.
  • Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
  • Waiver: Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
  • Assignment: You may not assign rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent.
  • Notices: Notices to us should be sent to [email protected] or delivered in writing to the workshop address.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available at this URL. For existing service engagements already in progress, the Terms applicable at the time of the Scope Agreement will continue to apply unless both parties agree otherwise in writing.
