Why Osmara Chime

A workshop built around the work.

No shortcuts, no assemblies by committee. One bench, attentive hands, and an approach that has not changed since the workshop opened.

Condition assessed before any work begins

A written condition report is prepared and shared with you before any disassembly or parts replacement takes place.

Transparent scope, set in writing

Every engagement begins with a written summary of what will be done, at what cost, and over what timeline. Nothing added later without discussion.

Photographic record at teardown and assembly

Mechanical overhauls include photographs at both teardown and reassembly stages, returned to you with the completed piece.

Timing verified across five positions

Mechanical calibres are measured in five positions after reassembly, with results noted in the service record returned with the watch.

Pressure testing as standard

Water resistance is tested after any case-back reseating, to the original rated specification. Results are noted and returned with your piece.

Service history maintained on file

Collection programme clients receive a maintained digital record covering every piece — photographs, reference numbers, and the complete service log.

Get in Touch

Bring your watch to the bench.

Whether you have a single piece in need of servicing or a collection requiring ongoing attention, we are pleased to discuss what is involved before any work is arranged.

Common Questions

Before you bring the watch in.

A few things most owners ask, answered plainly.

What happens when I bring my watch in?
The watch is assessed at the bench, and a written condition report is prepared. We discuss findings and agree on scope, cost, and turnaround before any work begins. Nothing is assumed and nothing starts without your sign-off.
How long does a mechanical overhaul take?
Typically three to five weeks. The range depends on parts availability — some calibres require sourcing from overseas, which adds time. We will give you a specific estimate once the movement has been examined, and we update you if anything changes.
Which calibres do you work on?
Most Swiss and Japanese hand-wound and self-winding calibres. If you are unsure whether your piece falls within our scope, contact us with the make, model, and reference number and we will advise before you make any journey to the workshop.
Are prices fixed or subject to change?
The scope and price are agreed in writing before work starts. If something unexpected is found during teardown, we contact you to discuss it before continuing. The work does not proceed without your agreement to any change in scope or cost.
What does the 12-month coverage period cover?
The coverage applies to the labour performed during a mechanical overhaul. If the movement develops a fault related to the servicing within twelve months of collection, we will examine and address it at no additional labour charge. It does not cover damage from impact, water ingress through a compromised case, or parts that were not replaced during the service.
How does the Collection Care Programme work?
For owners of five or more pieces, the programme provides scheduled annual attention across the whole collection. We agree the scope in writing at the outset, inspect every piece during the year, maintain a digital record, and include one full movement service within the period. It is designed for owners who prefer planned upkeep rather than waiting for something to go wrong.
